Dawn Thrailkill, Conductor - Harrison Chamber Orchestra
Dawn Thrailkill, conductor of the Harrison Chamber Orchestra, played cello as a member of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra in its inaugural year, 1977. She joined the staff of the Harrison Academy in 1996 as conductor of the Festival Strings in Oklahoma City.
A Norman High School graduate, Thrailkill was a student of Dr. Clinton, and studied cello with Marjory Cornelius at the University of Oklahoma, where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree. Miss Thrailkill has taught in Putnam City for 22 years. She is currently the orchestra director at Putnam City High School, and also teaches at Rollingwood and Coronado Heights Elementary Schools.
She has served professionally as the Oklahoma All-State Orchestra chair and Oklahoma Music Educators Association’s Orchestra Vice-President.
