Gena Alexander, Conductor - Harrison Sinfonia
Gena Alexander, conductor of the Harrison Sinfonia, joined the Academy staff in 2006. Previously, Gena was the orchestra director at Hefner Middle School in the Putnam City School District for two years. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, where she earned a degree in Instrumental Music Education. An active violinist, Alexander currently performs with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and Lawton Philharmonic.
In addition to performing professionally, Mrs. Alexander has served as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma Christian University, and currently teaches private Suzuki violin in her Edmond studio. Involved in the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the American String Teachers Association, Alexander has a passion for teaching young musicians.
