The Oklahoma Youth Orchestra (OYO), the flagship orchestra of the Harrison Academy founded in 1977, is comprised of the most advanced high school orchestral musicians who perform standard repertoire as well as music from contemporary composers. In addition to the full orchestra rehearsals the students will work in sectionals with professional coaches who are among the finest performers and ensemble players in the area. Students who are seniors may audition for the concerto competition and, if selected, perform with the OYO. Each year the OYO invites a renowned guest conductor, soloist or composer to perform with the orchestra. The OYO meets weekly on Monday evenings and performs four to five concerts each season. The conductor of the OYO, since 1992, is Dr. John Clinton. Tuition for the OYO is $500 per year.
