The Oklahoma Youth Philharmonia, is an 80-member introductory full orchestra ensemble consisting of mostly high school students that form string, wind, and percussion sections. The OYP serves as a training ground to the Harrison Academy’s flagship ensemble, the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra. Repertoire includes many standard masterworks expertly arranged for educational ensembles, as well as many original compositions, contemporary works, and popular music straight from the movies. The ensemble meets each Monday for an hour and a half and performs four times annually. The OYP has also participated in an exciting exchange program with the Youth Symphonies of Kansas City. Since 2006, the OYP has been conducted by Peter Markes. The tuition for the OYP is $400 per year.
