Denise McClurg Kenna, Conductor - Stillwater Festival Strings
Denise McClurg Kenna, conductor of the Stillwater Festival Strings, joined the Harrison Academy artistic staff in 2009. She has served as the orchestra conductor at Stillwater Middle School since 1998, and prior to that was the band and choral teacher in the Wellston and Perkins/Tryon schools. A graduate of the University of Kansas, she received a bachelor’s degree in music education, and earned her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
She is an active member of the American String Teachers Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. Ms. McClurg is on the staff of the University of Arkansas Summer Music Camp, and served as the guest clinician for school and regional ensembles in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
